Emergency Service +44 (0) 15242 61166

The Angus Fire Emergency Service delivers urgently needed stocks of foam concentrate and fire fighting equipment to major incident sites worldwide. A dedicated emergency hotline provides a simple means of communication 24-7. Bulk foam stocks are held in constant readiness at foam production facilities and distribution centres in the UK, France, Italy, USA, South Africa, Dubai, Singapore and Australia. When a call for help is received an emergency procedure springs into action. Depending on the scale and location of the incident, delivery by road can often be co-ordinated within an hour and by air freight within a few hours. Foam production staff at all sites are on constant stand-by to produce additional supplies of foam. The company has supplied emergency foam stocks to several major fire incidents, the first being the large storage tank fire at Milford Haven in the UK in 1983. More recently, in 2003, the company chartered an Antonov 124, the largest heavy transport aircraft in the world, to air lift foam stocks to a multiple storage tank fire at Repsol-YPF in Spain. In the same year a Boeing 747 cargo aircraft was used to supply 100,000 litres of foam to a tank fire at Idemitsu Kosan in Japan. In 2005 the Emergency Service was praised for its speedy response in supplying over 600,000 litres of foam to the multiple tank fire at Buncefield in the UK.

Foam Testing Service

Foam testing is crucial in ensuring that stocks of foam concentrate held in long-term storage are in good condition when they are needed to put out a fire. It is impossible to tell if foam concentrate is of operational quality by smelling it, looking at it in its drum, or touching the finished foam blanket. Foam users around the world submit samples of foam concentrate to the award winning Angus Fire Foam Testing Service as part of their regular maintenance programmes. Teams of highly qualified scientists and technicians in modern, purpose-built laboratories analyse samples of all types of foam to the highest standards. With knowledge and experience of evaluating foam samples gained over many years, Angus Fiire staff are uniquely placed to interpret the results and provide reliable recommendations about the suitability of foam for use in an emergency. Analytiical chemistry laboratories that do not specialise in fire fighting foam testing are unable to offer such specialist expertise. The results are reported quickly with a comprehensive test report.
